Ask Xplorr: the Console Assistant

Ask Xplorr in the console’s top bar opens a chat panel. Ask about spend, top services, month over month changes, forecasts, savings recommendations, anomalies, budgets and alert rules.

  • The same tools as the Xplorr Slack and Teams bot and the MCP server, reading your organization’s data in Xplorr.
  • Your own sign in. Answers cover only the cloud accounts and data your role can see, the same as the pages you open.
  • Each answer lists its sources: the tools that returned data, each linking to the console page that shows the same figures.

The assistant is told to state only figures that a tool returned, and to say so when it has no data rather than estimate. AI answers can still be wrong, so check important figures on the linked pages.

The assistant can create a budget or an alert rule, delete an alert rule, change a recommendation’s status or start a sync. It describes the change and asks you to confirm first, then makes it as you, with your permissions, and it appears in the audit log under your name.

Xplorr has read only access to your cloud accounts. The assistant never changes anything in AWS, Azure or GCP.

Ask Xplorr is an AI feature, so it follows your plan and your organization’s monthly AI budget. On the Free plan the panel says AI is part of Growth. When the month’s AI budget is used, it pauses until the 1st. Each question is recorded in AI usage as assistant.

The conversation stays in the panel and is cleared when you reload the page. Xplorr does not store it.
