Weekly Executive Summary
Section titled “Weekly Executive Summary”Every Monday at 09:00 UTC, Xplorr posts a leadership-ready summary of the last week’s cloud spend to Slack. It includes week over week trends, top cost movers, anomaly impact, recommendation progress, and an AI written executive insight.
The summary is Slack only. Microsoft Teams delivery is being built with the Teams bot.
What’s in the summary

| Recommendation progress | How many recommendations are applied and how many are still open |
| Savings realized | Total estimated monthly savings of applied recommendations |
| Budget health scorecard | Each budget’s current spend against its amount |
| AI executive insight | A 2 sentence summary written by GPT-4o |
AI-generated insight
Section titled “AI-generated insight”The executive insight is written by GPT-4o from the week’s figures: the week over week change, total spend, top movers, anomalies, recommendations and budgets. It aims to say what changed and what to look at next.
Schedule
Section titled “Schedule”The weekly summary is sent every Monday at 09:00 UTC. The schedule is a deployment setting (WEEKLY_SUMMARY_CRON), the same for every organization.
The summary covers the last 7 days with complete billing data, compared with the 7 days before them, so today’s partial data never skews the change.
The weekly summary goes to the same channels as the daily digest: every routed channel with the digest switch on, or the Slack workspace’s default channel when there are no routes. See Channel Routing.
No additional setup is needed beyond having the Slack app connected.

- Engineering managers: track spend trends
- FinOps leads: monitor budget health and recommendation adoption
- VPs and directors: high-level visibility without opening a dashboard
- Finance: understand cloud cost trajectory
