AI Spend: Track OpenAI, Anthropic, Bedrock and Azure OpenAI Costs
AI Spend
Section titled “AI Spend”The AI Spend page brings model API costs together across four providers and shows tokens and unit cost wherever the provider reports them.

Bedrock and Azure OpenAI spend appears automatically once those cloud accounts sync. Xplorr recognises them from the billed service, so there is nothing extra to connect.
OpenAI and Anthropic are not on any cloud bill, so they need a cost source connector.
Cost and tokens come from different places
Section titled “Cost and tokens come from different places”This is the single most important thing to understand about the page.
- Cost is available for all four providers.
- Tokens and requests are only available from the OpenAI and Anthropic connectors. Cloud bills do not report tokens, so Bedrock and Azure OpenAI contribute spend but never token counts.
That means cost per 1K tokens is calculated only over the spend whose tokens are known. The page shows a token coverage percentage next to it so you can see how much of your AI spend that figure actually covers. If you have only Bedrock spend, the metric stays empty and the page says so.
What the page shows
Section titled “What the page shows”Pick a range of 7, 14, 30, 60 or 90 days. The default is 30.
Stat cards
- Total AI spend, with the change against the previous period of the same length
- Month to date, compared with the same number of days in the previous month
- Cost per 1K tokens, with the token count and the share of spend it covers
- Top model, the single highest spend model in the period
Cards and tables
- Daily AI spend by provider, stacked by provider
- By provider, each provider’s share, with a connect link for any AI connector you have not set up
- Top models, the highest spend models in the period
- Spend by model, with model, provider, spend, previous period, input tokens, output tokens, requests and cost per 1K tokens
- Spend by project or workspace, using OpenAI projects and Anthropic workspaces, falling back to the account name
- AI spend anomalies, spikes found by the daily anomaly check, with a severity badge
Costs run through the last complete billing day rather than today, so the most recent day or so of usage is not yet included.
Attribution by project
Section titled “Attribution by project”If you use OpenAI projects or Anthropic workspaces, the connectors carry those names through, so Spend by project or workspace splits AI cost by the team or product that spent it without any tagging work.
Anthropic usage that is not attributed to a workspace shows as Default workspace.
Anomalies
Section titled “Anomalies”AI spend is included in the daily anomaly check, so a sudden jump in model spend raises an alert like any other cost spike. The page lists the ones that fall in the selected period, with the actual cost, the baseline it was compared against, and the size of the spike. Full alert history lives on the Alerts page.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Cost per 1K tokens is empty
No connector is supplying tokens. Bedrock and Azure OpenAI costs come from cloud bills, which do not report tokens. Add the OpenAI or Anthropic connector to populate it.
A provider shows “Not connected”
For OpenAI and Anthropic, add the connector. For Bedrock and Azure OpenAI, the provider appears once a connected AWS or Azure account actually bills for those services.
Spend looks lower than my provider dashboard
Check the date range. The page ends at the last complete billing day, and month to date comparisons use equal day counts rather than whole months.
Bedrock spend is missing
Confirm the AWS account is connected and syncing, and that the usage really is billed as Bedrock. Xplorr classifies Bedrock from the billed service name.
Do I need a connector to see Bedrock or Azure OpenAI spend? No. Those come from cloud bills you have already connected.
Does AI spend double count anything? No. Connector spend and cloud bill spend are separate sources. Bedrock is billed by AWS, Azure OpenAI by Azure, and the OpenAI and Anthropic connectors read those vendors directly.
Does AI spend show up elsewhere in Xplorr? Yes. Connector costs land alongside cloud costs, so they appear in cost views, budgets and anomaly checks too.
Who can see this page? Anyone in the organization, scoped to the accounts they have access to. Adding connectors requires admin.
